Donations Appreciated

The scholarship is starting out with a modest sum donated by friends and family and is currently supported only through donations. We hope to continue to build the scholarship to allow us to help more students from the Hanover area. Your donations are tax-deductible and will help students in the geographical area where Allen lived. Any little bit helps--even just $5--and we thank you in advance for your generosity.

About the Organization:

The A. E. Egger Memorial Scholarship Fund is a tax exempt organization organized and established pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. The organization does not at this time have a Letter of Tax Exempt Determination from the IRS. The IRS charges administrative fees for reviewing and issuing letters of determination for tax exempt organizations. To make the most efficient use of funds and ensure that all dollars contributed go to our stated purpose of providing scholarship opportunities, the organization will not seek a formal letter of determination until we are required to do so. Under current published IRS regulations, the organization generally is not required to seek a letter of determination until the organization receives contributions in excess of $5,000 in a calendar year.

Although we are not able to give tax advice, the IRS does not require an organization to possess a letter of determination for tax exempt status in order for donations to that organization to be considered tax deductible. You should consult a tax attorney or tax preparer to determine how to treat your contribution at tax time.

The organization will prepare a written acknowledgement of your contribution, which will give you necessary documentation required if you choose to consider your donation to be tax deductible.
